About WXK67:
These NOAA VHF Radio Broadcast, normally only reach
people in the local area of the station. These are very much like a regular FM
Broadcast station. With the advent of the internet however, these very
local stations can be up linked in real time for the world to listen to. The WXK67 San Antonio / Austin broadcast starts its
up link via a local antenna. This is connected to a Radio
Shack PRO 2004 receiver, which sends the audio to the weather computer
running the personal weather station. The sound card collects the
audio for up link to the server. These up linked radios are
all volunteer efforts of public service minded folks that enjoy doing such
things. These stations broadcasts save many lives every year, because of
the storm warnings.
NOAA POES Project
Satellite photos from passing NOAA weather
satellites are received one line at a time as they fly over San Antonio
Texas. These pictures are then uploaded. The most
current, fly over pictures, are left to right, top to bottom on the page.
This is left over from another project. It's
posted for all the links, still pointing here.
