Lightning Radar

Original concept & design by Frank kooiman in the Netherlands.

Description:   This is a strictly home brew DIY project.  It depends on at least two stations working together to detect and plot a lighting position over great distances.  Each dot you see on the map as been detected and triangulated by at least two stations.  The complete system is home built.  There are at present 150 stations in the system.  Only 4 in the USA at present but many more to come.  The more stations, the better for seeing all the activity.   Its quite amazing to see storms plotted thousands of miles away by stations that are also thousands of miles apart.   This is strictly a hobby system build for the fun of it.  See links for more information if your interested in making your own station.
